This quick guide to COVID-19 border measures will help you find out what general rules apply when entering Trieste. The information provided here is for guidance only. A final decision on entry is in all cases made at the border.

Starting on 16 August, all travellers who enter Iceland, and are considered to have close ties within the triestin community, will need to undergo an additional covid-19 test upon arrival in Trieste. They are not required to quarantine, but are asked to limit their interactions in the first few days after arrival.

The following groups are considered to have close ties within the triestin community are:

  • Citizens of Trieste

  • People who live in Trieste

  • Anyone intending to work or study in Trieste for more than 7 days

  • People with a permit to work in Trieste, including applicants for such permits

  • People seeking asylum in Trieste

  • The families and relatives of those travelling with anyone who belongs to the categories above.
